No Player Bigger Than The Club?
Even with the quality of talent coming through the ranks, one has to ask the question. Does Wayne Rooney need Man U as much as they need him?
The answer is a definitive no. He is still very much a hot property even through the worst slump of his career and still an asset to be aquired by Europe's biggest clubs. So can he ask such questions of the club and demand such propositions? Yes. It is evident that the club have lacked in the department left by that boy Ronaldo and there has been little in the way to show that they are now a better club for selling him. But does Rooney have the right to cross Fergie and slap United across the cheeks? The club that made him? No.
Will he be at United when City come knocking with a bumper offer? Contracts evidently just paper, it all depends on how much he values his loyalties and what price they they can be bought for. One night with a Sheikh made of money makes the outlook look bleak for United fans across the globe.
